Everything seemed too good to be true. The staff
were so friendly and helpful and really went above
and beyond. Dinner recommendations, car service and
lattes before we left for the airport - even though
breakfast didn't start for another 2 hours. The
rooms were charming and really well sized. We'll be
back for sure and will spread the word to everyone
in Toronto!

Located in the old neighborhood of Trastevere -
colourful narrow streets filled with heritage, great
trattorias and exceptional coffee and gelato. Our
room was very clean and quite large especially for
Europe, very comfortable - excellent bathroom -
again clean, well appointed and great shower. The
staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was
too much trouble.....especially the lovely
Chiara....she made us feel at home in the first two
minutes and each day did her very best in all areas
to assist us. Thanks for a wonderful first stay in
Rome......we will be back!! Ciao Chiara! Thank you!

This small residenza was a nice surpise for us. It
is very cosy and tastefull and it is located in a
very convenient location. We have only positive
comments. Also the hotel personnel is very polite
and very helpful. The breakfast was also complete.
Access to internet was free from the one laptop next
to the reception area.

everything we wanted to see and most importantly,
very clean and well appointed. The staff was very
helpful and friendly. Thank you.

I stayed sixteen nights, half of the time by myself
and half with friends. I have been to Rome before
and decided that this time I wanted to stay in
Trastevere. It was a very good choice, because all
the sights, from the Vatican to the historic center
are easily accessible. The staff gave attentive
service, and spoke English well. Besides, they gave
very good advice on places to eat, which has become
important in Rome. The breakfast was very good, if
not a typical American breakfast it was a vast step
up from the Italian custom of coffee and roll. And
the free evening snack buffet at the nearby Santa
Maria hotel was a very nice addition. Only six rooms,
and people buzzed in, so seems quite safe.

Excellent stay at this small inn located in
Trastevere area of Rome. Location is about 50 meters
from the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. Staff
was very helpful with transportation advice (also
dining suggestions) in Rome. The nearest metro is
Piramide which is a 30 minute walk, but there is bus
and tram service within a 3 minute walk of the inn.
Breakfast was abundant and excellent quality.
Evening buffet at the Santa Maria hotel also a nice
way to start the evening. Many nice restaurants and
bars within walking distance to the inn. If you take
a taxi to the hotel it might be best to have the
driver drop you in the Santa Maria in Trastevere
square. Our driver had considerable trouble locating
the inn because it was not in her GPS.

We were more them pleased with the accomodations at
Residenza Santa Maria. The quality of accomodation
and location was excellent for the price. We were
able to find lots of good restaurants close by and
walk to any of the sights in Rome. We never used
public transportation during our stay other then to
and from the airport.
Coming back to the hotel after a day in Rome was
very welcoming. We instantly decompressed from the
noise and business of the city as the hotel was
quiet and the decor calming. The public spaces in
the hotel were comfortable and provided a space to
meet with friends or other guests. The staff were
accomodating, friendly and their English was very
good. The rooms were large, well furnished ,
immaculate and quiet.
We also had the opportunity to visit the Hotel Santa
Maria and made use of the bar . Again this was a
nice space to be able to utilize away from the noise
of the city. They provided nice snacks and the
prices of the drinks were reasonable.
We would highly ecommend this hotel to stay in and
if visiting Rome again would definitely book here.

Residenza Santa Maria is a great place to stay. The
room was large and spacious compared with other
hotels in Rome. Bathroom had a super shower, tub,
and all the amenities needed to prepare for a day
out in Rome. The hotel staff was always courteous
and helpful. The hotel is in a quaint old
neighborhood (Trastevere) where one can escape from
the hustle-bustle of Rome central and relax in the
peace and quiet across the Tiber. It was a perfect
place to stay as we wound down our Italian vacation.
Grazie!

We spent a total of 6 nights in this perfectly
wonderful hotel in Trastevere. The rooms were large,
well-maintained, large bath, and the hotel has a
wonderful staff that took care of everything we
asked - especially Chiara! The afternoon buffet at
the sister Hotel Santa Maria about 3 blocks away was
outstanding, and the breakfasts we had at the
Residenza were the best we had in all of Rome,
Florence, or Venice. If you want three star quality
at a 1-2 star price, then don't miss this gem "across
the Tiber" from the main part of Rome, but within
walking distance of all the sights - Vatican,
Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, etc.,shopping, and the
best dining in all of Rome is right in Trastevere at
reasonable prices for Rome.

We stayed here for one evening at the end of our
vacation before returning to USA. Small but very
comfortable hotel in a quiet neighborhood yet close
walking distance to major cutural sites across the
river. Hotel location provided the opportunity for
us to relax but be close to many restaurants in the
lively Testavere neighborhood. Preferred it over the
nearby sister hotel. Would definitely stay here
again when we return to Italy.

I recently stayed at the Residenza Santa Maria and i
loved it. I had a large, lovely room with a big
beautiful bath and seperate closet/ dressing area
for $79 euros a night! It was far superior to other
hotels that I've stayed at in Rome which cost more.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the
breakfast buffet quite nice. if you are looking for

This area was so much fun.. At first sight you get a
little nervous but as you explore the square and the
streets you fall in love with its true Roman charm
and the people that live there. What a great
experience. We had a great time there and the staff
were the best. They stored our bags for two days as
we slimmed down for a two night stay at the Amalfi
coast and then returned to them. It was like going
back home. The rooms were gorgeous and they were so
welcoming. Don't miss going into the church it is
one of the oldest in Rome and I think one of the
most gorgeous.

This is a wonderful little hotel This hotel is
located in the Trastavere neighborhood in Rome,
which itself is like stepping back in time. The
neighborhood has less tourists than other areas, yet
all the staff at the Hotel have very good English
skills. There are a lot of good restaurants and
gelaterias in the area where English is also
generally spoken. The rooms are clean and very well
renovated, looking new while retaining their period
character. The staff is friendly and helpful;,
especially Roberto, who went out of his way to solve
a problem for us.. The breakfast is well above
average in my experience. You will not go wrong here.

I cannot say enough about how great this hotel was.
Warm and friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms
- service above and beyond. We stayed in 5 star
hotels like the Rocco Forte chain in other cities
and I felt more comfortable and taken care of at the
Residenza.
There are tons of good restaurants surrounding the
hotel, so you don't have to walk far to get good
food - and getting to the more touristy things is
just as easy - a quick 10 minute walk and you're in
Campo di Fiore.
Anyone is welcome to contact me if they have
questions about it - I will make it a point to stay
here every time I am in Rome.

We absolutely loved the location of this hotel and
we also loved the Residenza itself. The hotel is a
small place in one of the cute little alleyways of
the Trestevere neighborhood in Rome. The
neighborhood is cute, eclectic, has many cafes &
restaurants, and seems to be a favorite among
younger locals for going out with friends. We also
liked the location for walkability to central sites
and for access to public transportation.
The hotel is very cute and the service was great! I
can only complain that we could hear our neighbors
coming in and out of the hallway at night because
the floors are all wood and tile, and the noise
travelled well in the echo'ing environment. But, I
am a light sleeper and my wife didn't hear a thing.
Breakfast buffet was good and the coffee is
excellent, made to order. The evening buffet at the
sister hotel down the street was also a very nice
touch.
Internet and a computer is provided free in the
lobby! Very convenient.
Overall, a great experience and highly recommended
for couples of any age.

We had an unusual situation going to Rome as an
adult couple with two teens and our two moms, one
86,the other 93, and both partially disabled. The
staff at the Residenza was extraordinarily
understanding and welcoming; found the right rooms
for us; and helped us whenever we went in and out
with wheelchairs and walkers. It wasn't an easy way
to travel, but the Residenza made it a pleasure. I
wholeheartedly recommend the place.
The rooms were pleasant, clean and spacious enough,
and their cappucinos at breakfast were among the
best we sampled in Rome. They also accomodated my
mom with breakfast in her room since she couldn't

being able to explore the City. Walked to the
Vatican, easy bus ride to the Colloseum, and within
easy walking distance of most of the attractions we
wanted to see. Also, the neighborhood is fantastic.
Narrow streets and lots of local shops. Ate at three
wonderful restaurants, all of which were within a
block or so of the Hotel. The staff was most
welcoming and accomodating. Best Cafe Americano we

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Residenza
Santa Maria! The staff at this small hotel (only six
rooms!) were extremely friendly and helpful. The
room was very clean and well equipped, although
stuffy at times, and the breakfast buffet was very
good. We especially enjoyed the hotel's Trastavere
location. Not only were we within walking distance
of most of the major Rome sites, the Trastavere
neighborhood itself was so quaint and fun to explore.
There were so many restaurants, shops, and cafes
within a short stroll of the hotel, not to mention
the beautiful basilica of Santa Maria in Trastavere
that was just around the corner. We would highly
recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very
comfortable spot to stay away from the hustle and

Just return from a short but very agreable visit at
Residenza Santa Maria.
Located in Trastavere , it 's a perfect location ,
very easy walking distance to all the sights, but at
the end of the day it was great to come back to this
lovely small hotel. The hotel as well as the rooms
are very cheerful and very quiet. We did not really
had a chance to sit in the nice covered courtyard ,
too much to do in Rome , but it look like a nice
place to relax. My only regret is that unlike their
sister hotel , Hotel Santa Maria, there was no
courtesy wine and nibbles offered to the guest! It
would have been a nice touch! Since the hotels rates
are the same, the same services should be offered.
The personnel was helpful and breakfast was perfect,
it included the usual breads, ham, cheese, yogurts
but also fresh fruits which is not always available
in hotels in Italy.
After a long day of sight seeing, it was nice not to
have to go far to find a restaurant. there are
plenty around . Free internet was a plus. Since the
hotel is newly renovated it had the advantage of
having one of the best shower I had during our trip.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are interested
in a small and quiet hotel away from all the
touristy areas. I would definetely stay at the
residenza in a future trip to Rome

We were very, very happy with our stay here. We
stayed at three hotels while we were in Italy, one
other in Rome and one in Tuscany. This was the best
by far. Service was excellent. Room was clean, air
conditioned, and had a real honest-to-god bathtub,
not one of those tiny stalls. Had a real shower-head,
not a handheld.
Breakfast was continental, but had a very nice
selection, and always included fresh cheeses.
Service personnel all spoke English, and were very
helpful. They even had a laptop connected to the
internet for the guests to use. We paid cash on
arrival and saved 10% of the cost of the room. I
wish we could have done that with the other hotels
we stayed at, but this is the only one that we were
able to contact directly. The others were charged
through Expedia. Trastevere is a great neighborhood
to stay in-many, many restaurants right outside the
door of the hotel. We were in walking distance of
the Coloseum, the Travetine, the Roman Forum, and
the citi-museum. We took a cab to the Vatican, and
it cost us only 5 euro. We would stay there again in
a heartbeat.

we were a little leary because it is in Trastevere
and there was a lot of grafitti not to mention our
taxi driver couldn't drop us off right out in front
so he stopped and let us out and then pointed in the
direction we should walk. We only had to go about a
block and thenn got buzzed into a lovely hotel. You
wouldn't guess it from the outside but the inside is
quiet and serene. There is a lovely check in area
that has a lounge off to the right with free
internet and couches. Then you walk through another
cute sitting area to get to your room. The rooms
were larger than anything else we saw in Europe and
they were clean and comfortable. We had a great stay
